Worksafe BC – Presentation for Childcare Workers

Aiden Dee is an Occupational Health and Safety Advisor with the WorkSafeBC Prevention Field Services. Occupational Health and Safety Advisors help to reduce risk and keep workplaces healthy and safe through education and consultation with health and safety associations, labour organizations, industry associations, and other industry stakeholders. Worksafe OHS consultants are located throughout B.C.

These are the objectives of the presentation:

• Understand ergonomics (also called human factors)

• Recognize the early signs and symptoms of musculoskeletal injuries (MSI)

• Identify potential MSI risk factors • Control risk factors using:

* Proper environment set-up

* Proper-fitting attire

* Safe work practices
