Working with Wool with Ray-Ann Miller in Nakusp
At Stepping Stones in Nakusp on September 16th 2023 10-2pm. Participants will learn how to create felt out of raw wool. Everyone will receive a kit with all the materials needed to make a play mat that can be used as a base for story telling, for display on a seasonal nature table or for the children to play imaginatively with.
The process of making felt can take up to three hours so please wear comfy clothes. As participants are creating their play mats we will talk about wool, and I will walk you through all of the steps involved in the process of making the play mat. The only thing you need to bring is a large bath towel. Lunch will also be provided to nourish our bellies as we connect and create.
We will be accepting e-transfers for this workshop. You will receive information about payment via email. Space is limited. Filling out this form does not guarantee registration. You are only registered once you receive an email from CCRR staff.
Hi, I am Ray-Ann. I am an Early Childhood Educator and work with under 3 year olds. I have been in the field for many years. One of my favorite things to do is share my love of working with wool and creating imaginative small worlds with other educators that they can use in the classroom in a variety of ways. I am always inspired to gather to share knowledge, wisdom, experience and wonder with each other.
Ray-Ann has a website:www.andthecarrotcameup.ca where you can check out her blog and resources for sale. There will be a pop up shop at the felting session and payment is available with mastercard or cash.
