Words Matter: Communicating with Newcomers in a Digital World

ECEs are uniquely positioned to help raise and shape the next generation. With this honour, comes great responsibility. We not only educate the children of tomorrow but also liaise between our generation and the next. In addition, educators support newcomer families in embracing their new homes. As such, it is important for early childhood educators to have the knowledge and develop the skills necessary to engage with newcomer families in the face of language barriers and cultural differences.
