The Weight of Words
Join us online for an introductory workshop to philosophy, neurodiversity, and language use in our early years practice. In this workshop we explore why the language we choose to use, both when speaking to and about children, matters. We review growth vs deficit mindset, positive language use, and focus on specific terminology that is now considered outdated and even at times outright harmful. Participants are invited to reflect on inclusive practices when considering both the medical and social model of disability.
