The Playful Art of Grief: Helping to Support Children who are Grieving.

Workshop description: In this experiential full day workshop, Dallas will walk you through ways of supporting children with grief and loss through art, play, rituals, and remembering. We will address lifecycles, feelings of grief, healthy ways to deal with feelings, grief dreams, triggers, secondary losses, grief waves, mindfulness exercises, and remembering activities. We will also go over grief when it comes to divorce and/or separation and how you can help support children and families.

This is sure to be a fun and interactive workshop and will hopefully provide you with some ideas and tools for you to use when helping support children with grief and loss.

Dallas Shirley is a mom in a neurodiverse family, a partner, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a friend, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, and a BC Registered Play Therapist (BCRPT) through the BC Play Therapy association.

She helps to support families with grief and loss through specialized training and two decades of experience either volunteering in or working at hospice organizations such as Kamloops Hospice Association, Abbotsford Hospice Society, Chilliwack Hospice Society and Canucks Place Children’s Hospice
