Research says that early diagnosis and intervention are beneficial for a child’s development, and for improving outcomes and quality of life for all family members. A high-quality childcare program has positive impact on child’s development thanks to the important role of well-educated early childhood educators. This workshop will discuss what developmental delay/disorders are, help identify early warning signs, and provide ideas on how to talk to parents about concerns regarding their child’s needs for potential assessment. It will also provide strategies for developing effective strategies to support child’s development and inclusion in childcare. In addition, we will also include ideas on making connections and building strong relationships with parents and other community services programs such as early intervention teams.
