Sign Language for Families and Caregivers
Liv Meriano, M.Sc. RSLP completed her undergraduate degree in Speech Science at Brock University prior to completed her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, with a minor in Audiology, at the University of British Columbia.
Did you know that babies can sign before they can speak? Many caregivers are discovering the benefits of signing with babies t reduce frustration, strengthen communication and increase bonding prior to speech development. Through interactive pair and group simulations, this workshop provides childcare providers with basic baby signs using American Sign Language to communicate everyday needs. Participants also develop keener cultural awareness and respect for the Deaf/ Hard of hearing communities
