Meaningful Inclusion and Participation

What is meaningful inclusion and what does it look like in ECCE settings? This workshop looks at ways to engage in inclusive practices that actively promote meaningful inclusion for children, families, and educators. This workshop addresses the Universal Design for learning, social vs medical model approach, and ways to create an environment where everyone can meaningfully participate in equitable ways. Participants will learn about the ways that our attitudes and mindsets surrounding difference and diversity impact inclusive environments. The goal of the workshop is to find ways to create an inclusive practice and dive into what ‘inclusive’ means in an ECE context.
