Managing Big Feelings: An Introduction to Emotion Regulation

What is emotion regulation? And how do we support the growth of these skills in childcare settings, schools and at home? This presentation provide information about emotions, and explain what is happening “under the hood” when a child is struggling. We will also explore concrete strategies for responding to distress, and building regulation skills. In a nutshell, we will practice ways to support children in managing their big feelings, as well as address how to manage our own big reactions in the process.

Suitable for child care providers, child care workforce, and parents.
