Fostering Staff and Family Connections

The goal of this workshop is to explore how to foster family involvement and interactions between educators and families that are positive, purposeful and consistent. Exploring how to build strong connections with families, how to work together to support children, and how to effectively communicate with families, will be the focus of this workshop.

Offered in collaboration with the Justice Education Society of BC. Project funded by Women & Gender Equality (WAGE) Canada, “Increasing Access to Quality Child Care in BC”.

Suitable for ECE students, parents, intermediate and experienced early care and learning professionals working with children of all ages and abilities, from infants/toddlers to school age children.

Facilitator(s): Zina Abdulla

Zina has over 20 years of experience as an educator, working with children and families in different settings. She has completed her BA in Child and Youth Care and spent 6 years as a college instructor teaching the early childhood education program. She is very passionate about finding ways to promote children’s creativity and exploration. Her goal is now to support early years professionals through collaborative learning and workshops.
