Exploring BC’s ELF – Community of Practice
This is a multi-day workshop. Please ensure you are available for all the dates listed below:

Special Back to School fee! Bring 1 colleague or another educator friend to join for free.
After you register, email pro-d@wstcoast.org with the subject line, ‘Exploring ELF – Bring one for free’ with your colleague or friend’s full name and email address.
Your colleague or friend will receive an invitation link with a code, to register free of charge. They must have or register for a free WCCRC account before enrolling.

Conditions:
‘Free’ spaces will not be automatically reserved.
Only registered participants will be admitted into the training.
If a paid participant cancels their registration, their colleague or friend’s will also be cancelled.
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Familiar, curious, or have no idea what the updated BC Early Learning Framework is all about? This six-week community of practice is for you! All levels of experience are encouraged to participate, share insights, raise questions, and offer support as we explore the BC Early Learning Framework’s call to ‘live and learn together’. In this six week course, participants will use the Living Inquiries outlined in the BC ELF, to examine ideas about education, connect practice to theory, and find inspiration.
Living Inquiries:
Well-being and Belonging.
Others, Materials and the World.
Communication and Literacies.
Identities, Social Responsibility and Diversity.
Pathways:
Examine in detail each of the Learning Pathways.
Connect each Pathway to both teaching practices and theories about education.
Relate Pathways to classroom experiences.
Share and discuss ideas that helped to create the ELF, including Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Learning.
Suitable for ECE students, parents, adult instructors/administrators, intermediate and experienced early care and learning professionals working with children of all ages, from infants/toddlers to school age children, including children with extra support needs.
Facilitator(s): Cassidy Taylor
Cassidy has spent the last decade working in various settings and organisations as an educator and Librarian. Her jobs have included: working in school, non-profit, and public libraries, teaching ESL, tutoring students grade K-12, and as an ECE-A with preschool and after school ages. Cassidy is always curious and loves learning and sharing her knowledge with others. When she isn’t in the Library at WELL, you can find her in her backyard tending bees or on a long walk in the woods. Originally from the land of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, Cassidy has lived, worked, and learned on the unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples including the Musqueam, Squamish, Tsleil Waututh, and Qayqayt First Nation for the past 14 years.
