Creating Environments That Inspire Young Children – Community of Practice

“There is no better time than now to start growing a beautiful environment for children. Plant the seed, nurture it, and watch it grow!” Quote from the book Inspiring Spaces for Young Children by Deviney, Duncan, Harris, Rody, and Rosenberry

In this Community of Practice we hope to inspire and empower child care providers and early childhood professionals to thoughtfully create environments that are calm, inclusive, inviting, warm, and welcoming. Guided by the seven design principles explored in Inspiring Spaces for Young Children, we will grow and learn together, reflecting on how these principles align with and support the BC Early Learning Framework. As Loris Malaguzzi quotes, “We value space because of its power to organize…and its potential for sparking all kinds of social, affective, and cognitive learning.”

This Community of Practice will be a dedicated space and time for shared exploration, collaboration, and transformation, where we support one another in shaping meaningful spaces for children and ourselves.
