Count us In-Tools to Support Positive Behavior
Count Us In is a 4-hour workshop that educates leaders on best practices for including all children and youth in sport and recreations programs. These fun and practical strategies are specifically designed to support leaders and children experiencing challenges with self-regulation, sensory processing, attention and communications.
Learn to cope with, and prevent difficult behaviour by: identifying and avoiding possible triggers, supporting diverse groups to follow directions and self-regulate, communicating with parents, and shaping positive behaviour.
In the workshop we will actively practice implementing the top 5 ’tools’ to support positive behaviour which are: building predictability, managing pacing, creating a chill out zone, using transitions, and motivating with rewards
Large and small group work, self-reflection, games, PowerPoint slides, and videos are integrated throughout the workshop, and supported by take home resources and a workbook.
Count Us In research has been developed in partnership with the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation and eLearnology, and with input from top subject mater experts and tested with over 500 participants.
