Building Connections to Land Through Outdoor Play
In this workshop we will be talking about a variety of nature routines that help ease the transition from
indoor to outdoor learning and explorations, such as circle time and nature walks. Together we will talk
about the various outdoor learning spaces we have at each of our sites and what we could possibly do
there. And of course, we will explore lots of seasonal activities!
Presenter: Lauren MacLean is the author of the children’s picture book, “Me and My Sit Spot”. She is a
primary teacher and the host of the Mentoring Nature Connections podcast where she interviews
educators from across North America on the importance of outdoor play. She is a mother of two
amazingly wild toddlers and you will often find them exploring in the forest together.
