A Circle of Inclusion – In-Person Workshop

Cost: Free

Promoting inclusive practices is a priority in early childhood classrooms. How do we ensure that we are inclusive during one of the most important parts of this part of the daily routine….circle time? It is through setting up a welcoming environment that honors diversity that supports the commitment to the practices of inclusion.

In this interactive workshop, educators will have the opportunity to participate in an inclusive gathering time and gain ideas to bring into their classrooms. We will discuss the purpose behind an inclusive gathering time and why it is an important part of our daily routine. Educators will have opportunity to explore ideas and perspectives about what makes a circle time inclusive, where all children’s needs are met and respected. Participants will be given the chance to reflect on personal practices, share what inclusion looks like and means to them and consider how they can infuse this into their own gathering times.

Presenters: Supported Child Development Consultants from the Centre for Child Development

Please note this session is for educators who live or work in Delta, Surrey or White Rock. Registration available by phone at 604-572-8032.

This workshop is presented in partnership with the Centre for Child Development
