Effective Storytelling with Props

Effective storytelling draws children into the story. This workshop will explore how the voice and props can be used to capture children’s attention. Examples using puppets and story baskets will be provided. Each participant will receive a story basket kit to take home to use with children. Come prepared to hear many stories and share what has worked for you in sharing stories with children.

Presenter: Georg Melzer

Georg is a retired professor of early childhood education at University of the Fraser Valley. He has developed many learning resources for the child care environment. His workshops are designed to provide practical information for working with children.

Arrive by 9:30 AM to enjoy networking opportunities and earn up to an additional 30 minutes of professional development before the workshop begins.
