Trauma-Informed Practice Strategies for Professionals Working with Young Children
This workshop provides an introduction to trauma and how it impacts children in their learning, relationships and behaviour. Participants will learn about the physical, emotional, social and spiritual ramifications of trauma and be provided with practical suggestions for providing trauma-informed environments and practice for the early years.
Presenter: Ashleigh Martinflatt
Ashleigh has been working in the area of trauma and child development for over 20 years. She has a Bachelor in Child & Youth Care and a Masters in Social Work specializing in children and youth. She teaches Social Work and Child & Youth Care at a Post Secondary Institution and is a clinical counsellor specializing in working with children, youth and adults who have experienced trauma.
