Identifying and Removing Barriers: an Inclusion Mini Conference

Join us for a one-day mini conference on the topic of inclusion and Diversity. Debra Smith will present the workshop “Identifying and Removing Barriers: We Can All Play!” Parts one and Two. This workshop supports Early Childhood Educators in responding to the unique strengths, needs, and identities of every child within play-based programs. Participants will explore how observation and reflective practice guide inclusive, responsive environments that evolve from children’s interests.
Lunch and snacks will be provided as well as a small vendors hall, and opportunities for networking and connecting. Participants will also recieve a gift bag and the chance for a door prize.
Debra Smith received her ECE from Douglas College and later completed a Bachelors Degree in CYC and a Masters in Education; Counselling Psychology. Deb has worked extensively with a range of children in diverse programs and is passionate about working with children with diverse abilities, physical literacy, learning environments and advocacy in early childhood education. Deb continues to work at Douglas College in the ECE Program and enjoys her connections with the ECE community.
