The Weight of Words and Reframing Behavior
THE WEIGHT OF WORDS:
Psychology, philosophy, and language use
come together to explore mindset within our
early years practice. Participants learn the
measurable impact their daily engagement has
on children, while examining medical/social
models of disability and current practice
language use.
RE-FRAMING BEHAVIOUR:
Rooted in a brain-based understanding,
participants gain valuable insight to “why
does he do that?” with exploration of co-
regulation throughout the early years. We
re-frame our understanding of behaviours,
deeply connect with the model of ‘upstairs
brain/downstairs brain’ with strategic, on-
the-floor, actionable responses for educators.
