DESCRIPTION:This is a multi-day workshop. Please ensure you are available for all the dates listed below:\nOnline Friday, August 15, 2025 from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm (Tech session) and\n10 online sessions on Mondays & Wednesdays, Aug 18, 20, 25, 27, Sep 8, 10, 15, 17, 22 & 24, 2025 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm\nCourse Requirements:\nBe at least 19 years of age at time of registration.\nAll participants must have grade 8 English written and oral skills (or equivalent) to actively participate during class.\nRead and understand the ‘Refund and Cancellation Policies’, ‘Workshop/Course Policies’, ‘Classroom Code of Conduct’ and the ‘At Our Workshops’ section at the bottom of the course page. \nDescription:\nThis course was developed by Westcoast to meet the requirements for 20 hours Responsible Adult training as stipulated by the Child Care Regulation. Through online workshops, it covers concepts about child development from birth to 12 years of age, child guidance, health, safety and nutrition and programming. This is a basic course meant for people starting their career in child care. This course is not suitable for those requiring professional development to renew an ECE or ECEA certificate.\nEmployment Possibilities\nResponsible Adults are qualified to work in:\nSchool Age Group Child Care (licensed before and after school care).\nOccasional Child Care (licensed).\nAs a replacement (substitute/casual on call) for an ECE Assistant (for less than 30 days) in a licensed group child care centre (a Responsible Adult may not replace a fully qualified early childhood educator).\nOpen a licensed family childcare.\nSummer camps. \n\nFacilitator(s): Vesna Krcmar\nVesna is an experienced facilitator and Early Childhood Educator, she has worked as a Vancouver CCRR Child Care Services Consultant at Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre and currently she is their Outreach Professional Development Coordinator.
