SUMMARY:Mentorship, Moral Injury & The BC Early Learning Framework
DESCRIPTION:Mentorship, Moral Injury & The BC Early Learning Framework\nIt is said that ‘timing is everything’ – what happens when timing is off? What happens when opportunity arrives at the same time as vulnerability? In Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) there has never been more opportunity (interest, political will, legislation, money) to advance our work–yet the capacity of our sector (at every level) has never been more stretched, more fragile, more overwhelmed. This dialogue session is an invitation to consider some of what is happening at this intersection of opportunity and vulnerability, the role of moral injury (and membership!) in ELCC and how the Early Learning Framework can support us moving forward.\nAlison Bledsoe is a much-loved presenter who recently offered three workshops on the Early Learning Framework. She has lived Early Years practice in many contexts; working frontline in childcare and family support programs learning teams of Educators in non-profit partnering with school districts in the provision of licensed childcare leading various funding/policy/development initiatives managing Early Years investments for one of BC’s largest philanthropic organizations; as an ECE faculty member in public post secondary settings and as a consultant from Early Years organizations and initiatives. Since its inception the BC Early Learning Framework has been central in much of Alison’s work-as well as her own growth and leadership development.\n
