SUMMARY:Supporting Children through Family-Centered Care
DESCRIPTION:Children do not grow and develop in isolation — they are deeply connected to the relationships, experiences, and dynamics within their families. This workshop explores the vital role families play in shaping a child’s emotional well-being, behaviour, participation, and development within child care settings.\nParticipants will learn how to view children through a family-centered lens by examining the importance of family structure, caregiving relationships, cultural values, stressors, and support systems. Educators will gain a deeper understanding of how a child’s behaviours are often the expression of challenges occurring within the family system.\nExplore the importance of building collaborative relationships with families and gain confidence in supporting families with curiosity and care.\nPresenter: Stefanie Fowler\nStefanie holds a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and is the co-founder of Embody Wellness Collaborative Therapies in Richmond, BC. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Stefanie joins women, children, and families to unfold the innate qualities of embodied emotional expression. With more than 20 years of experience working alongside families and a foundation in early childhood education, Stefanie’s approach is rooted in child development and neuroaffirming practices.\nZoom links will be sent on the day of the workshop; please contact our office at childcareoptions@options.bc.ca if you do not receive one.\n
