SUMMARY:Natural Curiosity in the Early Years
DESCRIPTION:This 2-hour virtual session has been designed to provide an introductory overview\nof the Natural Curiosity approach – the four-branch pedagogical framework for\nenvironmental inquiry, and the associated Indigenous lenses articulated by Doug\nAnderson (Métis/Bungee). Natural Curiosity 2nd Edition is a mentor text that can\nprovide a common language for environmental inquiry and support the\nintroduction of Indigenous perspectives in diverse learning contexts. Participants\nwill begin to engage in a professional inquiry process where they will be\nencouraged to find their own ways to connect young children to the natural world\nin the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation. Natural Curiosity grows in a relational\nmodel of teachers, students, land – educators will be encouraged to think about\nhow they can support that approach.\nPlease note the timing of this workshop is 6:30 to 8:30 pm Mountain Daylight Time, 5:30 to 7:30 pm Pacific Daylight Time.\n
