SUMMARY:Everyday music in the daycare setting
DESCRIPTION:Description\nLise-Anne’ workshop will offer techniques and tips for caregivers to draw on to include music in daily activities, bond with children through musical play, help children through transitions, organize the day with music, and offer the children the learning support that music brings for cognitive and language skill development\nAnd for the children to establish a routine, learn to express themselves musically, and learn to recognize patterns and predict outcomes with music.\nThis workshop will have an immersive approach, will offer activities to use in everyday life at the daycare, based on play, bonding and experimentation.\nNo music background is necessary but a will to participate is!\n \nAbout Lise-Anne Beyries\nLise-Anne has been facilitating music for young children in Squamish for 15 years through the program “Music Together”, offering family music classes to babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. Her music career started as a teenager playing the flute and singing. She stepped away for some years after moving to the mountains. A chance encounter in 2002 introduced her to the Music Together curriculum and she jumped on the occasion to take their official training. Bringing music into the lives of young families combines her love of music, children, movement and improvisation.\nMusic Together has always been on the leading edge of early childhood music education and the research behind it is extensive, dating back to late 80’s. A certified teacher of this program.\n
