DESCRIPTION:Storytelling is an ancient & powerful way to build belonging, identity, and connection in early learning spaces. In this 4-hour interactive workshop, participants will explore African oral storytelling as an inclusive teaching practice, while learning about the contributions of Black Canadians and the African diaspora. Through storytelling, slid show, visual displays, music, movement, and group reflection, educators will experience multiple ways of learning and expression. Together, we will explore how stories can challenge dominant narratives, uplift marginalized voices, and support culturally responsive classrooms. Participants will leave with practical strategies, adaptable activities, and renewed inspiration to create inclusive, culturally rich learning environments for all children.\nSuitable for child care providers, child care workforce, and parents.\n
