DESCRIPTION:Have you noticed more and more young children needing additional social-emotional support? This virtual workshop focuses on providing early literacy resources, tools and strategies that support the emerging social-emotional skills of children from birth to six. Content includes:\nDefining social-emotional development in the early years and discussing how it contributes to healthy child development.\nSharing early literacy strategies that support social-emotional skill development.\nDiscussing how educators and other caregivers can nurture and model behaviours that will facilitate this learning.\nProviding social-emotional literacy extension activity ideas that can be easily integrated into current programs.\nPresenter: Bookmates Facilitator\nThis workshop will be presented by a Bookmates Facilitator. Bookmates is a non-profit organization based in Winnipeg with over 40 years experience in supporting early learning educators. Bookmates stays current with emerging research and themes related to healthy child development and uses a literacy lens to share strategies, information, resources and practical experiences.\nZoom links will be sent on the day of the workshop; please contact our office if you do not receive one.\n
