SUMMARY:Positive Guidance: Strategies for School Age Children
DESCRIPTION:This workshop for School-Age children is an engaging, hands-on experience designed to empower caregivers and educators with practical strategies for fostering respectful, collaborative relationships with children aged 6 to 12. Through interactive activities, group discussions, and real-life scenarios, participants explore techniques such as cocreating rules, emotional coaching, and problem-solving with children. The workshop emphasizes the importance of empathy, consistency, and shared decision-making, helping adults guide behavior in ways that build trust and independence. By the end, attendees leave with a toolkit of actionable ideas to support children’s growth, resilience, and sense of belonging—both at home and in the classroom.\nPresenter: Jo Chahal\nWith a deep passion for nurturing young minds and a steadfast commitment to creating inclusive learning environments, Jo has devoted her career to supporting children from a wide range of backgrounds, abilities, and lived experiences. Since 2003, she has been immersed in early childhood education, grounding her work in an approach that honours the whole child and recognizes that meaningful learning begins when educators meet children exactly where they are at.\nZoom links will be sent on the day of the workshop; please contact our office if you do not receive one.\n
